Dr. Kivijarv joined PQ Media in 2003 after almost 30 years of experience in the media industry as a senior consultant, marketing specialist, media manager, on-air talent and communications professor. At PQ Media, Dr. Kivijarv directs the research development of all projects including the renowned Veronis Suhler Stevenson Communications Industry Forecast & Report series.
As a foremost expert on media and entertainment trends, he has been interviewed and quoted by leading media outlets, such as Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, MediaWeek, Advertising Age, MSNBC.com, Bloomberg Television and NPR’s Morning Edition. Dr. Kivijarv has been active in the communications industry delivering presentations at conferences, authoring articles in publications, receiving humanities grants, and serving as producer on broadcast programs.
Before joining PQ Media, Dr. Kivijarv spent 10 years as director of research and publications at leading media merchant bank Veronis Suhler Stevenson, where he acted as the managing editor of all the firm’s publication and spokesperson to the news media. Other corporate positions included Communications Specialist at CIRCON Corporation and Senior Consultant at the corporate training firm First Management Services.
Additionally, he has acted as an independent consultant to over 40 companies and organizations with assignments in training, research, marketing & promotions, and video production. Dr. Kivijarv was also a university communications professor for 15 years, concurrently serving as a media manager at a number of these institutions. Currently, he is on the editorial board of the Publishing Research Quarterly, a research committee member of the Book Industry Study Group, and listed in Who’s Who in America.
Dr. Kivijarv holds a Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University.
