Kinsey Wilson

Wilson oversees an online news operation that delivers ‘round-the-clock breaking news, sports, entertainment and financial information to more than a million readers a day. With other senior executives, he also is involved in the development content alliances, syndication and distribution opportunities, technology initiatives and new online ventures. Under his leadership, the site has received numerous journalism awards including Editor & Publisher’s 2002 and 2003 awards for the best designed Internet service, the Associated Press Managing Editors’ 2002 Online Convergence Award and the Scripps Howard 2001 National Journalism Award for web reporting.

From 1995 to 2000 Kinsey was a senior news executive at Congressional Quarterly Inc., where he helped champion a digital publishing strategy that led to the integration of print and online operations. Before joining CQ, he worked for 15 years as a reporter, the last seven at Newsday, where he covered energy, politics and local government. He is a member of the Poynter Institute’s National Advisory Board and serves as treasurer of the Online News Association. Wilson has and AB in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
