Andrew Satter
Online Producer, Arizona Daily Star

Andrew Satter received his master’s in new media from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern Univeristy in 2004. During the Spring 2003 Media Management Project, he documented the project and worked with the online team to create a cohesive strategy that incorporated three of the project's tenets: Be relevant to young readers, speak in their voice and provide multiple opportunities for interactivity. Satter's studies at Medill also included an independent internship with Kurtis Productions, a documentary film studio in Chicago; a three-month stint as a reporter for the English language weekly The Prague Post in the Czech Republic, where he reported on the child sex trade on the Czech/German border and the country's then-impending entry into the European Union; and a winter in Washington, D.C., as the Capitol Hill correspondent for the Bend (Ore.) Bulletin. Since graduating from Medill, Satter has spent the past year as an online producer for the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson, where he coordinated the site's 2004 election coverage. He oversees all online education, political and border-related content and produces Web-only video documentaries.
