Web Editor, Santa Fe New Mexican

Freenewmexican.com is the web site for Santa Fe's daily newspaper, The New Mexican. Its web team is committed to pursuing numerous ways of re-democratizing the news process via many forms of public participation. Dill has been web editor since 2003.

  The site has been recognized for its participatory journalism work in online profiles at Online Journalism Review, The Media Center's Morph blog, and J-New Voices. The site has nearly tripled in various traffic stats over the past two years, and was voted best newspaper website in New Mexico for 2004 by the New Mexico Associated Press. The web team documents its work and ideas in this area in their blog New Media in New Mexico.

  Dill happily defaulted into digital journalism via radio newscasting, building a few websites, voracious news consumption, and thinking too much. His wife Micci and children Kiko and Sofia keep him grounded just enough. Dill is also a performing oudist/sarodist /guitarist.
