Robert Larson
Director of Product Management and Development, New York Times Digital
Larson oversees a team of product managers focusing on vertical products and paid services including Movies, Theater, Travel, E-mail, Distribution/RSS, Crosswords, Cartoons and Personal Technology. In addition, he manages the search and classification systems on NYTimes.com, as well as the consumer archive business. He served as Director of Information Architecture from June 2000 to April 2004. Previously, Larson served as education editor for The New York Times Learning Network beginning in July 1998 after having served as community developer for The Times’s New York Today site. Previously, from October 1996 to October 1997, he was deputy editor and then editor for The New York Times on America Online. He began his career at The Times as producer for NYTimes.com in June 1996.
Prior to joining The Times, Mr. Larson was a freelance screenwriter. Mr. Larson received a B.F. A. Degree in Film & Television Production from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He received an M.A. degree in instructional technology and media from Teachers College at Columbia University. Mr. Larson is married with two children and lives in Maplewood, N.J.
