Seminar Focus

Advertising managers today need multiple skill sets: strategic planning, staff development, customer relationships and, of course, selling. In two versions of this seminar, members focus on all these issues, tailored specifically to the size of their own markets, staffs and resources. Both seminar versions include "The Sherwood Courant," API's innovative, daylong computerized simulation program, which challenges members to engage in a myriad of management scenarios and personnel issues.

Who Should Attend and Why

Advertising vice presidents and directors, retail managers, national and major-accounts managers, classified managers, senior sales executives and marketing managers should attend. Attendees gain:

  • An ability to analyze markets and competition, measure advertising-sales potential and design effective strategies for maximizing revenue and market share

  • Communication and management skills to inspire top performance from diverse staffs

  • Confidence to lead change effectively and move an organization forward in the face of resistance and budget constraints
